The PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, is for those who are seriously thinking about the Open Water Diver course, but are not sure if diving is for them. In the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience you will be treated like an Open Water student and the teaching is done in a way that involves your own active approach in setting up the equipment, practicing the skills and the basics of dive planning.
In this program your experience will also be credited towards the future Open Water Diver Course, whether you will do it with the Railay Dive Center on the same holiday, or somewhere else within 1 year. With the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program you will also get an online credit (valid 1 year) towards the PADI Open Water Diver course and a DSD booklet that covers the skills and theory you will learn with the DSD program.
Please note that if you continue directly after the PADI DSD program to the PADI Open Water Diver course with the Railay Dive Center, you will be credited more from your OWD course price than if you later go somewhere else. This is always a case of concern and it is just a fact that Open Water Diver Course is more expensive if done one part here and the rest over there. It will give the students more flexibility, but involves reviewing and doing some skills and theories over again, and will normally exceed the original price of the course.
The PADI diver training system is the safest and most widely recognized diver training system on the planet. This means that the diving courses are structured and conducted the same way all over the world (within PADI Centers) and as a PADI diver you receive the same training wherever you go – and also you can continue your training to the next level seamlessly anywhere you like.
